I've Been Busy

I really have been. 

I've been struggling to understand the purpose of my own blog. Website. Am I confined to only speaking about things related to writing? If I talk too much about myself outside of writingology, will people take me less seriously? I have lots of things I want to talk about–things about the world, things about the media, things about me–but do those things belong here?

The answer, I think, is yes and no. This isn't a website about my political persuasion, so that should be left out. This is, however, a website about me. So, on occasion, I'll talk a little less about writing and a little more about me. Here are some things that have been keeping me busy.

1. First, planning a wedding. I haven't mentioned that I'm getting married in... *checks phone* 43 days, 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 25 seconds. Now you know! This isn't a wedding blog, fortunately for you, so that's all you'll hear about that.
2. Nannying my nieces, primarily thinking of different ways to get Princess Maddy to prick her finger on the spindle, only to be reawakened by...me. Because I have to be Madelyn's mother, step-mother, evil witch, and Prince Charming. It's a very exhausting and mentally-draining occupation.
3. Job searching. Blegh. Let's not talk about that.
4. Trying to figure out how to eat healthily and inexpensively, which means reading up on herbs and gardening and raising chickens and essential oils and trying to figure out how to cook, and basically learning too much, and too much=nothing.
5. Editing book 2.
6. Thinking of book 3.
7. Trying not to think about 3 other books cooking in the back of my head.
8. Upgrading my Temple Run 2 character.
9. Defending why I still play Temple Run even though no one else seems to.
10. House-preparing.
11. Acclimating to life away from school. This is the first time I haven't been in school since Pre-school! 

I do have 5 drafts that are waiting to be written and eventually published, so don't think I've forgotten about my wonderings. I'll be back in a jiffy. (After writing that sentence, I wondered where "jiffy" came from, so I looked it up. According to Wikipedia, "Jiffy is an informal term for any unspecified short period of time, as in 'I will be back in a jiffy.' From this it has acquired a number of more precise applications for short, very short, or extremely short periods of time. First attested in 1785. the word's origin is unclear, though one suggestion is that it was thieves' cant for lighting."
